Growing Out Of Our Boxes

10/4/2016

I have recently been reminded by Dr. Chuck Ribley that moving out of our box (comfort zone) only moves us into the next box. "The dance continues." It's not as if one step means "it's done"...there will be another, next step, another set of limitations, obstacles, and circumstances to navigate.

Of course this isn't "new news" to me...it just happens that I was on the tail end of some inner work that had been given different names. Instead of dancing, I was rumbling and wrestling. It was messy, not a fluid and easy participation.

When Dr. Ribley reminded me about the Dance, my heart reconnected to honoring processes and participating with Love. I released the need to control and stopped resisting the guidance for the next steps in "my work". I have a friend who experienced the birth of her twins by dancing with her husband. While it's been 9 years since I birthed baby #5, it's still an analogy I connect to. Birth is HARD. It is painful and messy too. I remember the contractions I tried to resist with #3. I tried to back out of them, even scooted my body backwards on the bed as if I could get away from the pain. As soon as there was awareness to HOW I WAS PARTICIPATING (or how I was trying to back out of it and resisting), things shifted...I chose to move fluidly. No doubt...there was still pain, still required me MOVING and engaging, but it was dance-like.

Too often it happens for women in labor...fear slows and even pauses progress. I've let fear pause my progress with OptiMOM Coaching. Today marks a new day. I'm in a new box...I participated and danced through a challenge. There is a beautiful song singing in you, I hope you'll show up to dance.

...and that we share the dance floor of life some too.

Unbelievable and Unacceptable Statistic!

...and my part to help change it!
Picture
I heard several times recently that 1 in 4 women are taking anti-depressants or anxiety medications in America. This struck me like a boot to my gut. I tend toward the natural approaches, living a very holistic and chiropractic lifestyle, but also recognize and support intervention when it's truly needed. I ache to think that 25% of the adult women in our country are in a state of health that needs psychotropic medication. I refuse to believe this is truly what is the best way to deal with the anxiety and depressed state of being.

One of the profound benefits that I've witnessed in coaching is the re-connection to hope and health. I hear women talk about how even the self-coaching model they experienced in the free call helped to reduce the overwhelm and anxiety they were experiencing. I've learned a lot from the feedback over the years using this model and know (in my bones) that the impact of increased hope can change the trajectory of a family's health.

I'm grateful to have been able to implement the free call each month and am watching the number of attendees rise as you're passing along the opportunity to moms in "your sphere of influence". Learning about this statistic has raised the feeling of urgency in me to reach and support more women. I hope you will join me by passing along the monthly opportunity to a mom you know.

The new level of urgency has generated the exploration and creation of new products & services. I'm thrilled to announce a workshop this month titled Restore Rhythm. This will only be available to 8 people, maintaining a level of intimacy while sharing the cost of "group coaching". Keeping it small will also help me not experience overwhelm. (she says grinning)

Thank you again for being a part of the OptiMOM Coaching family and for doing your part to increase the health and well-being in your part of the world.

Be well,

Lisa
